Our Goals and Objectives
The media outlets created by the East Palo Alto Center for Community Media represent a communications breakthrough for the East Palo Alto community, since the East Palo Alto Today newspaper, the paper's website and the Talking with Henrietta television show give area residents:
-
Powerful communication tools that they can use to increase their access to information.
-
Educational and informational tools to further civic awareness and citizen involvement.
-
A mentoring program to teach journalism skills to interested community members.
-
An opportunity to present to neighboring communities many of the positive, productive activities and events taking place in their community.
-
Media forums that support ongoing dialogues about the issues, personalities and events shaping local, state and national policies.
-
A forum that local businesses can use to publicize their products and services.
