A 23 year old man, identified as Jabari Banford, was shot and killed Monday night as he stood talking to the occupants of a vehicle on an East Palo Alto street.
In their homicide report, officers who responded to the shooting scene, said that Banford, an East Palo Alto resident, was standing in the 2500 block of Illinois Avenue at approximately 8:48 p.m., when a white colored sedan stopped behind the vehicle, which contained the people with whom he was talking.
A man exited the second car, approached Banford and fired at him shooting him several times. Then the suspect ran back to the other vehicle which sped away.
The police report that paramedics responded to the shooting scene to treat the victim, but he succumbed to his injuries and died at the scene.
The police are now asking that anyone who may have witnessed or has any information regarding Banford's murder contact the East Palo Alto Police Department via one of the following means:
