For Immediate Release
The City decided to include all four beats in the Citywide Clean Up Day rather than providing this service one beat at a time. The date has been changed from April 5th to April 19th. Please make note of the date change.
The Citywide Clean Up Day was initiated to promote public safety. Hazards such as discarded furniture, appliances and accumulated trash piled up in and around people’s homes are not only increasing the fire potential in our neighborhoods, but they also increasing the potential for injury to the public. Additionally, studies have shown improving the aesthetics of a neighborhood greatly contributes to the reduction of crime.
Menlo Park Fire Department, Allied Waste and the City of East Palo Alto are sponsoring the Citywide Clean Up Day. Residents of East Palo Alto are invited to bring their unwanted items to the Corporation Yard on this day for free disposal. Please have some proof of your address with you (driver’s license, copy of garbage bill, etc.) If you are unable to bring large items such as appliances or furniture to the corporation yard, please place your items on the curb and the Fire Department will deliver them to the Corporation Yard for you.
