Charles Askanas, SCORE Consultant

The East Palo Alto Center for Community Media is pleased to have Charles Askanas as the key presenter for its upcoming workshop "Steps for Winning in a Down Economy."

Askanas received his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Electrical Engineering from New York University. His earliest work was on test instrumentation.

He worked at Fairchild Semiconductor where he became the General Manager of the Instrumentation Division. He left Fairchild to start Quantor that went public and was subsequently sold to NCR.

He then started Datastream Corporation, which was sold to Lee Data. Within Lee Data, he advanced to become president. Then he left to become president of Versatec. After many years at Versatec, he left to start nuWeb, an internet data collection company. nuWeb was sold to I/PRO and the Nielsen Company.
